Opening hours and fees 2023
If you wish to travel with your own boat on Kinda Canal, there are three different seasons with varying opening hours. During the high season, which runs from after Midsummer to mid-August, we are open every day without prior booking throughout the entire canal.
During the pre- and post-season, it is necessary to pre-book locking before your arrival, and it is not open every day. However, Brokind Lock, which is the most frequented, is open without pre-booking on certain dates even during the pre- and post-season.
High season 26 june – 13 august
The opening hours below apply to all locks in Kinda canal during high season.
All days between 9 am and 19 pm.
Closed for lunch 12 to 1 pm
Commercial traffic takes precedence. Delays can occur.
Tip! During the high season you can ring the lock keeper directly about 30 minutes before you plan to begin your canal trip to reduce possible waiting times.

Pre- and post season at Kinda canal
All traffic during pre- and post season must be pre-booked.
All locking during pre- and post season must be pre-booked by phone or e-mail no later than 13.00 two working days before the desired start date.
Lock times are adapted for convoy traffic between Brokind and Nykvarn or vice versa. Lock times in Brokind are at 9 AM or approximately at 4:30 PM when boats in convoy pass from the north.

June: Tuesday- Saturday, with exception for the national day (June 6) . May 30 to June 3, June 7-10, June 13 to 17, June 20-22.
August: Tuesday to Saturday Aug 15-19 and August 22-26.
September: Saturday Sep 2 and 9.
